This is now a very late description of this event but Corey Seager went for my Dodgers to the Texas Rangers. He and Marcus Semien signed in this offseason for the upcoming 2022 MLB season. Seager is a star shortstop and won a World Series and a Rookie of The Year. The new infield setup for the Dodgers going forward may look like, Justin Turner at 3B, Max Muncy/Cody Bellinger at 1B, Gavin Lux at2B, and Trea Turner at SS. The other situation is to keep Trea Turner at 2B, and put Gavin Lux at SS. Another scenario is to put Trea Turner at SS, and put Chris Taylor at 2B, and add Gavin Lux or A.J. Pollock to their elite outfielding core of Mookie Betts, and Cody Bellinger. The problem with that is that Gavin Lux is new to the outfield and needs work at that position.
In Texas, the Rangers have now 3 stars of the MLB on their team. That is, Corey Seager (SS), Marcus Semien (2B/SS), and Adolis Garcia (OF). They also have a young and decent pitching core.
The Blue Jays now have more time to start and develop Cavan Biggio, the second generation 2B. His dad played for the Astros in the early 2000s. the rest of the infield is young and second generation and they have Lourdes Gurirel JR, a former number one prospect. He can play infield but mostly plays outfield now.
All of these teams have stars and I think the Blue Jays got the best end of letting Marcus Semien go to free agency. My Dodgers got the worst of it by losing a great SS and having lost Alex Verdugo and Kiké Hernandez. They all are great teams and the Rangers are more up and coming.
